Disease Treatment and Prevention
In most cases, gum disease can be prevented. With routine oral hygiene care and proper oral hygiene techniques at home our patients can prevent gum and bone disease. If a patient does have gum and bone disease, we will educate them to decrease the chance of the disease worsening.
The two most common types of periodontal surgery done are Gum Grafts – when the width of gums around the tooth is increased, and Gum Pocket Treatment – when the gum and bone around your teeth need special treatment to treat the disease. Whenever our team feels your periodontal needs would be better served by seeing a specialist (periodontist), we will make the appropriate arrangements for you.
